Optimus Prime, BMX Bikes and the Doomed Hollywood Venture

Did another sketch of Optimus Prime today. This time he’s riding a BMX bike.

There’s a true story behind this actually. This is a little know fact but during the eighties some top movie moguls got together and cooked up a plan to make a full length movie featuring Transformers on bikes.

Millions of dollars were spent just developing the script alone and everybody was confident that they had a massive blockbuster hit on their hands.

That is until just before filming when they decided to do some camera tests and took a real life transformer to the local BMX track get some practice footage. The whole thing was an absolute disaster as the giant transformer proved to be far too heavy for the bike and broke it into tiny pieces after attempting its first jump.

It was then clear that the film was going to be an impossibility and the whole thing was shelved with millions lost. A few of those aforementioned movie moguls even lost their jobs as a result and had to sell their house and force their kids to sell crack just to get by.

There was also a rumor floating around at the same time that another film studio was developing a concept for a movie featuring Mr T and the flying creature from “The Never Ending Story” but I personally think that that was a load of nonsense.
